Elopements have a special place in my heart. They are authentic, honest, and true. It is a personal event that is help between a couple and I am always honored when I get to be a part of such a unique and personal experience.
For this elopement, my couple wanted it to be somewhere unique in the Arizona desert. The Superstition mountains were the first thing that came to mind. They are such a unique landscape and are a mountain unlike any other one I have seen. As I was thinking about where along the superstitions we could have their ceremony, I remembered the Elvis Presley Memorial Chapel which has the superstitions perfectly behind the white chapel. This chapel was originally created as a prop in an old western movie called “Charro!” starring Elvis Presley himself! It has since been donated to the Superstition Museum and is available for events. After communicating with their office, we obtained a permit and continued planning from there. The chapel also has a bridal room in the back for the bride to get ready privately before the ceremony.
The couple also wished to include their late grandpa’s vintage, white corvette. We drove it all the way out to the chapel and it was the perfection addition to their special day – making their elopement all the more uniquely tailored to them. We took some pictures with it parked in front of the chapel and also along the fence outside the grounds by the road.
This was the perfect day! It was uniquely tailored to the couple and what was important to them – which is exactly how it should be. I look forward to capturing more elopements like this in Arizona’s beautiful landscape.
